It was a sporting injury that initially led Dr David Cannon to see a Chiropractor. Not only did it speed his recovery, it addressed some other health concerns and opened David’s eyes to the way the body works.
After spending his early years in Queensland, a young, sports mad David moved to Melbourne with his family in 1991. After completing high school, David went on to study Chiropractic at RMIT Bundoora, which is where he gained his qualification.
After working for just over a year on the Mornington Peninsula (enjoying the sun, surf and lifestyle but not the commute), David started to look for work closer to home. That’s when he found True Health and joined the team late in 2004.
In early 2009, David and his wife Alicia were given an opportunity to travel and work overseas. They planned to go to Europe for a year-long working holiday but ended up staying for almost three! He initially worked as a locum Chiropractor in a number of clinics around Ireland, eventually settling in Dublin and working in a clinic very similar to True Health.
He returned to True Health in late 2011, keen to implement everything he had learned during his travels.
When he’s not working, David plays volleyball (having represented Victoria at a state and national level) and has coached state level volleyball both here and in Ireland. He also plays cricket, loves to swim, follows the footy and now has a deeper understanding of rugby, soccer and few more obscure European sports as well!
Along with learning many different techniques over the years at various seminars, David has completed a post-graduate course in nutrition and paediatric Chiropractic care (Certificate in Chiropractic Paediatrics 2008).
He has particular interest in injury rehabilitation and management, and he also enjoys assisting patients in overcoming chronic pain and posture problems due to workplace ergonomics.
